Duhhh!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_ZiPiXEv_Q_g\/TCOgTb0Eq5I\/AAAAAAAADD4\/Z69zXtqTwlM\/s1600\/Einstein-duh.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/ec2-54-175-84-28.compute-1.amazonaws.com\/pharma-mkting.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Einstein-duh.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know whether to laugh or cry about all the brouhaha regarding results of a survey of NYC physicians just reported in <i>Archives of Surgery.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The survey finds that 72 percent of the 590 physicians and medical students at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine who responded &#8220;have positive attitudes toward various marketing overtures, including small gifts and lunches&#8221; (see this Pharmalot post with the headline: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pharmalot.com\/2010\/06\/most-docs-remain-positive-toward-pharma-marketing\">Most Docs Remain Positive About Pharma Marketing<\/a>&#8220;).<\/p>\n<p>Not mentioned in the Pharmalot post is the fact that &#8220;participants who completed the survey were able to submit their names and e-mail addresses separately for the opportunity to receive 1 of 2 gift cards worth $100 each&#8221; (you have to access the METHODS section of the paper to see this; it&#8217;s not in the <a href=\"http:\/\/archsurg.ama-assn.org\/cgi\/content\/abstract\/145\/6\/570\">abstract<\/a>, which Pharmalot cited).<\/p>\n<p><b>To which I say: DUHhh!
