This is according to the <b>AstraZeneca Innovation Survey<\/b> (find it <a href=\"http:\/\/www.astrazeneca.com\/innovationsurvey\">here<\/a>). <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;By carrying out this survey we sought to shed some light on what innovation means to people around the world and whether they believe it is valuable to society as a whole,&#8221; said David Brennan, AZ CEO.<\/p>\n<p>The survey shows that Americans think advertising executives are only as innovative as teachers, but much less innovative than doctors, artists, engineers, or scientists (see chart below; click on image for a larger view).<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_ZiPiXEv_Q_g\/TQE2zvAdtZI\/AAAAAAAADN4\/s5W6yCDfdXo\/s1600\/Innovative_Profl_charts.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"400\" src=\"http:\/\/ec2-54-175-84-28.compute-1.amazonaws.com\/pharma-mkting.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/Innovative_Profl_charts-2.jpg\" width=\"381\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>But in the &#8220;emerging&#8221; nations of India and China &#8212; where pharma pins its hopes for the future of sales &#8212; advertising executives are seen as much more innovative than doctors and somewhat more innovative than musicians. <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m thinking of starting up an Indo-Asian edition of <i>Pharma Marketing News<\/i>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sorry to break this to you, but Americans don&#8217;t think advertising executives are very innovative.
