{"id":14342,"date":"2019-04-17T19:24:14","date_gmt":"2019-04-17T19:24:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pharma-mkting.com\/?p=14342"},"modified":"2019-04-17T20:51:06","modified_gmt":"2019-04-17T20:51:06","slug":"april-19th-is-world-ibs-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ec2-54-175-84-28.compute-1.amazonaws.com\/pharma-mkting.com\/events\/april-19th-is-world-ibs-day\/","title":{"rendered":"April 19th is World IBS Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The IBS Patient Support Group, an online patient community for Irritable Bowel Syndrome sufferers founded by Jeffrey Roberts, announced today a new initiative to designate April 19th as <em>World IBS Day.<\/em> The mission of <em>World IBS Day<\/em> is to ignite a new conversation about IBS to raise awareness about the quality of life issues patients face while living with the condition, and to show strong support for research &amp; healthcare professionals in their pursuit to find treatments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This brand new, annual event will generate a donation of 10 cents each time the hashtag(s) <strong>#LetsTalkIBS<\/strong>, <strong>#IBSAwarenessDay<\/strong> or <strong>#WorldIBSDay<\/strong> are used across all social platforms on April 19th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"background-color:#7b8994;color:#ffffff;text-align:center\" class=\"has-text-color has-background has-medium-font-size\"><em>Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a common digestive disorder which can significantly impair a patient\u2019s quality of life, and affects roughly <\/em><strong><em>10% of the global population<\/em><\/strong><em> or <strong>700 million people worldwide<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe created World IBS Day to take place every year on April 19th to unite the world to raise awareness about IBS under one banner. We believe that World IBS Day begins a new conversation about Irritable Bowel Syndrome where it is hoped that worldwide awareness activities will culminate on a single day to talk about patients, education, research and support for healthcare professionals and their efforts to find treatment options,\u201d says Roberts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The World IBS Day website is located at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldibsday.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"worldibsday.org (opens in a new tab)\">worldibsday.org<\/a> and is supported on this inaugural year by organizations and individuals from Australia, United Kingdom, Canada and the United States.
