Bio/pharmaceutical companies today are faced with a growing need to manage and maintain an increasing amount of data. IT departments are now required to expand their knowledge of what their business counterparts require from an end user stand point. While individual sales, marketing, finance, etc. departments may maintain and manage individual databases, an increased scrutiny of data lineage by Federal and State governments as well as a rise in regulations in both government and corporate environments, have required Information Technology departments to integrate databases and systems spanning across multiple departments. Data integrity and data integration are currently at the forefront of bio/pharmaceutical companies. They need to focus on the correct methodologies and best practices to maintain compliance and still allow information to flow in a real-time environment. With this, data governance continues to challenge company’s internal communication avenues and their ability to report on data from one central repository.
This conference drills down to the issues effecting data warehouses today. As more IT and Business units interact, this conference addresses the issues surrounding data governance and the increased scrutiny of both the Federal and State governments. Additionally, a particular focus is paid to data lineage, data integrity and enterprise data integration. This conference provides a forum for individuals to review their company’s current data warehousing practices as well as discuss proper methodologies used to build, maintain and manage centralized data repositories.
