The pharmaceutical industry continues to face major obstacles in attaining patient persistency and compliance. The related cost is $100 billion, according to PharmaCentra, which also indicates that healthcare management is shifting to more effective delivery models to more effectively manage the problems. (PharmaVoice, June 2007).
CBI and PharmaVoice’s 2nd annual ‘Strategic Patient Adherence” (SPA) Awards produced two winners from Astrazeneca for the Best Integrated and Amgen/Walgreens for Best Branded Program. The Best Integrated Award Program was presented to Cadient Group for Astrazeneca’s The Bipolar Adherence Program for SEROQUEL and the Best Branded Program was presented to Amgen/Walgreen’s for their Persistency Program for Sensipar®. These two programs won because our esteemed group of judges deemed them exceptional in their compliance initiatives.
